Programme content
The Bayes MBA has evolved. We’re breaking down traditional subject silos and combining core modules in finance, sustainability and technology. A cross-disciplinary mindset enables you to solve complex business problems with confidence.
Understand the critical trends that matter in modern business: we have introduced new modules on Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics. Sustainability and ESG principles are integrated throughout the curriculum, along with specialised electives in climate change, ESG strategy and corporate responsibility.
From consultancy weeks and international electives to hands-on strategy projects our students don’t just learn about business – they actively practise it. We’re using the latest virtual reality technology to immerse you in dynamic business environments, where you can collaborate with peers and make critical decisions in real-time – preparing you for the complexity and urgency of modern leadership.
A refreshed approach to assessment now prioritises real-world application of knowledge. Traditional exams still have their place in some areas, but in most modules, we prioritise evaluation based on situational analysis, report writing, presentations and business pitches.

Professional development
Achieving your potential
Experiential learning is the process of making meaning from direct experience, and this week is dedicated to active experimentation and reflective observation.
The main event is held off campus away from a typical working or study environment. Over the course of this week you will participate in a range of practical activities and challenging ‘learning metaphors’ used as a starting point to discuss skill traits, individual development themes and receive feedback from trained facilitators and cohort peers.
You'll explore leadership styles, learn to create followership, examine examples of effective communication in challenging team contexts and develop deeper insight regarding mental toughness and resilience.
International Consultancy Week
Experiential learning is a cornerstone of the Bayes MBA, empowering students to apply their knowledge in real-world, high-impact settings. The International Consultancy Week is an opportunity for you to carry out a consultancy assignment with a specific company based in a different country. Select from a range of companies in different industries, from start-ups to large organisations. Previous destinations have included Ireland, Iceland and Poland.
You will work with the company to develop solutions for a business challenge they face. It could cover strategic development, marketing, HR, finance or operational challenges. You have one week to work with the company face-to-face and then a further four weeks to provide a full set of recommendations to the company, which is assessed.
As well as applying solutions to real-world problems, the International Consultancy Week is an opportunity to reflect on your own skills as a consultant, leader and team player in a new market and different culture.
Projects
The Strategy Project
Gain practical experience of gathering information and performing strategic analysis on a company that is currently operating in the UK over a three-month period. You are required to work effectively as a team enacting the role of directors, senior managers and strategy consultants.
You will apply MBA learnings from your core subjects, test management theories and use your own insights from previous professional experience in the context of working with a real company. Your team will consult on a real strategic challenge, such as how to expand internationally or embrace digital transformation. This culminates in a presentation to the client, where you set out your analysis of the problem and present effective strategies for planning and implementation.
Some previous tasks that our Full-time MBA students completed while undertaking their Strategy Project:
- Mapping market sizes and values, identifying client needs and then building a recommendation for a new product and revenue stream
- Conducting a strategic market analysis, exploring potential markets, the competitive landscape and potential value chain
- Providing potential targets to help achieve long term growth
- Reviewing the company’s business context and competitive positioning
- Recommending innovative ideas to solve a buyer-seller relationship
- Presenting critical insights such as revenue forecasting models to the company, including key-stakeholders
- Conducting several meetings with the MD, Chairman and senior managers.
Business Integration Project
The Business Integration Project is an individual piece of work, which will develop your research skills in a multi-disciplinary business environment. It is a major piece of largely self-managed business analysis, taken over several months, which forms an important part of your MBA degree. It is an opportunity to put your knowledge into practice, usually in the context of a company of your choice. You will also be assigned an academic advisor from Bayes to supervise your work.
Projects must be multi-disciplinary drawing significantly on at least two disciplines studied on the programme.
Projects may be of four principal types:
- Consultancy: aims to resolve a client issue, uses primary data, and offers commercial benefits to a client
- Desk research: aims to resolve a managerial or commercial issue, uses primary and/or secondary data, and offers commercial benefits to a sector
- Case study : aims to develop a comprehensive description and diagnosis of an organisation or sector
- Business plan: in case you are interested in starting your own venture or growing an existing one.
