Become a Board Member of the DEI Council
We are seeking passionate expert individuals to become board members of our Diversity Equality and Inclusion (DEI) Council to help drive the school’s DEI Strategy and achieve real impact globally.

As such, an important part of that is external expertise, knowledge and scrutiny. The school’s DEI Council is a key component our governance structure, whose role is to advise and support the school’s senior leaders. The DEI Council consists of a majority of external members that bring their expertise as well as accountability to Bayes Senior Leadership team around their DEI strategy.
About the Role
As a member of the School’s DEI Council, you will advise and support the school’s senior leadership team with regards to developing and monitoring its strategy through:
- Reviewing proposed initiatives and ensuring that Bayes is up to date with best DEI practice and continuously improves on key DEI indicators
- Supporting the scrutiny of data, evidence and reports relating to diversity, representation, equity and inclusion in the school
- Supporting alumni, student, and community DEI engagement initiatives, which may include fund-raising initiatives and future collaborations towards facilitating access to Bayes (e.g., scholarships, training, internships, mentoring, accessibility initiatives)
- Commenting on action plans within DEI-related applications for accreditations at school-level
Board members will be required to attend one board meeting (it can be hybrid), with some additional involvement depending on your availability and the needs of the school.
Terms
Role: Board Member (Voluntary Role)
Location: London (remote/flexible options available)
Time Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours (typically 4-6 days per year)
Remuneration: Non-financial (standard travel and reasonable expenses reimbursed). Though this is a great opportunity to gain or enrich your board experience, and expand your network and profile, and learn more about the HEI sector

You will have relevant and complementary skills sets from several backgrounds:

- Executive Leadership Experience in public, private or voluntary sectors

- Education Policy Specialists (e.g. Widening Participation)
- Corporate DEI executives
