The diversity of our Faculty is a strength which creates a research culture where multiple international perspectives and experiences are brought to bear in tackling some of the key challenges facing the sector and wider society. Research findings feed directly into the curriculum, exposing students to the very latest trends and theories.

Engaging with partners and industry

We have a long history of external engagement, building deep-rooted connections to the likes of the Bank of England, HM Treasury, the European Central Bank and the World Bank.

We work across business sectors with a wide-range of industry partners, attracted by the breadth and depth of expertise we offer – companies including JP Morgan and Legal & General among many others.

Academics not only advise on policy, but offer specialist consultancy and commissioned research. We draw on this wide network of connections in the sector for our extensive events programme, which brings together high profile thought-leaders and decision makers for agenda-setting discussions and debates. Our flagship lectures include:

  • The annual Mais Lecture, which since 1978 has seen speeches from Nobel prize winners, Chancellors of the Exchequer and future Prime Ministers
  • The Henry Thornton Lecture Series, running since 1979 and attracting some of the world’s foremost academics on monetary policy and theory.

We also host a myriad of conferences, workshops and seminars which attract an international audience of academics, students and industry representatives.
