Bayes finance programmes achieve NSS top 10 for positive undergraduate student experience

Business School students report improved levels of satisfaction in the National Student Survey.

Undergraduate students at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) have registered a strong year-on-year increase in satisfaction according to this year’s National Student Survey (NSS) results.

The survey comprises an annual questionnaire sent to final-year degree students. It aims to gather anonymous feedback from students about their higher education experiences, including teaching on their course, access to resources and equipment, and student voice. This year, data was collected from students across 130 UK institutions and rankings are constructed from the data, based on the average positivity measure across the core set of questions.

In those rankings, finance programmes at Bayes rose 23 places from a year ago – to 8th place in the UK and 2nd in London – while business management degrees improved two places in 45th. The Accounting and Finance programme, meanwhile, was among the largest risers in the country, gaining 59 places to climb to 36th.

Bayes Business School’s overall positivity score according to the survey rose to 83 per cent, from 78 per cent in 2023. Standout areas of improvement include ‘assessment and feedback’, ‘student voice’ and ‘organisation and management’.

Professor Richard Payne, Deputy Dean for Programmes at Bayes Business School, said:

“We are extremely happy to see that our final-year students are enjoying an improved experience while studying at Bayes.

"This reflects the aggregate efforts of academic and professional colleagues who deliver the undergraduate programmes and one can clearly see the fruits of building strong partnerships with students in the results we have obtained.”

“My thanks go to all students who completed the National Student Survey, and to the aforementioned colleagues who work to create a positive undergraduate student experience here at Bayes.”
