Life at Bayes
From mentorship and competitions to business clubs, sports activities and professional networking, there's more to being an MBA student at Bayes than just studying.
Collaborative environment
Experiential learning is key to putting your MBA knowledge into practice and developing life-long connections. Coupled with a diverse classroom, the insights you gain from diverse industries and cultural differences help to develop a global mindset.
At the start of your programme, you are allocated to a study group designed to provide a support mechanism throughout your MBA. Your cohort will contain an incredible amount of talent and experience which you will source knowledge from, all with a common goal; for career advancement.
Mentors
Having a mentor is essential at any stage of your career. Recent graduates are selected to impart their knowledge to you. They are there from day 1 at induction and throughout your time on the MBA.
MBA Student competitions
Students are encouraged to participate as a team at external competitions focusing on a range of topics. One which is held by the Careers and Professional Development team gives you the opportunity to demonstrate research and presentation skills to the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandler.
There are also international competitions such as the Ben Graham Centre’s International Stock Picking Competition in Toronto. Full-time MBA student’s Akane Uchida and Varun Venkatraman utilised each other skillsets and won the competition in 2018. You can read more about their experiences on Akane's blog.
Not all competitions are academic based. The MBAT is the largest inter-MBA sports tournament, hosted by HEC Paris, with more than 15 schools and over 1500 participants. MBA students from all over Europe compete in more than 20 sports to win the MBAT trophy. This a great opportunity to meet and network with other MBA students from leading business schools and to demonstrate teamwork and sportsmanship.
Business Clubs
While you will be making strong connections with your classmates and gaining a solid academic understanding of business, the extracurricular business clubs are not to be missed.
Our student-led business clubs are a valuable addition to your student and academic experience that offer incredible opportunities for you to expand your professional network, boost your career prospects and gain key insights.

MBA Careers Beers
Held twice a year in the City of London, Careers Beers is a highlight of the MBA event calendar at Bayes. Hosted by the Careers and Professional Development Team, the event brings together around 200 Full-time, Executive, and Modular Executive MBA students, along with alumni, for an evening of meaningful networking in a relaxed setting.
The event offers a unique opportunity to build cross-programme connections and meet professionals working across a diverse range of industries.
Many of our students have gone on to secure roles or discover opportunities through the connections they’ve made at MBA Careers Beers, proving that networking truly is one of the most powerful career tools.
Global Women’s Leadership Events
As part of the development of the Global Women’s Leadership Programme, the board decided to host events with inspiring speakers to equip and empower women. These events are typically organised by the Global Women’s Scholars as part of their programme.
