Lauren McCarthy

Lauren McCarthy is Director of ETHOS and a Senior Lecturer in Corporate Social Responsibility at Bayes Business School. She hasLaurenMcCarthy held previous roles at Royal Holloway, University of London, Copenhagen Business School, and the University of Nottingham. Lauren’s research explores how businesses and partner organisations can contribute (or not) to gender equality, particularly within global value chains. This work has also touched on feminist social movements and their utilisation of different strategies including social media and CSR. Her work has been published in Organization Studies, Human Relations, Business Ethics Quarterly, Business & SocietyOrganization, and Gender, Work & Organization, as well as in journals in the geography and development fields. Lauren’s most recent grant investigates the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Cambodian garment supply chain with a feminist lens on workers' access to social protection (refashionstudy.org)

Dipsikha Guha Majumdar

Dipsikha Guha Majumdar is a Bayes Honorary Visiting Fellow supporting ETHOS’ work from 2024 onwards. She is a Lecturer atDipsikha Guha Majumdar Northumbria Business School, and was awarded her PhD at Bayes Business School, City University of London. Dipsikha’s research is in the areas of gender, caste, inequality, and entrepreneurship, especially in relation to marginalised communities. She also holds a MPhil and Masters degree in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, India and University of Pune.

Dipsikha has worked in the voluntary and CSR sector with NGOs and corporations in India. She has extensive grassroots experience of working with low-income, vulnerable communities, primarily involved in designing and implementing development interventions for low-income groups in collaboration with other stakeholders - community, state-level governance institutions, NGOs, international development organisations and corporations.
