I am, once again, delighted to invite you to the 11th City of London Biennial Meeting.

The Biennial Meeting was established in 1999 by the Centre for Shipping, Trade and Finance, Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London. Major names in politics, business and academia have participated in the past.

“The Biennial Meeting established itself as a major event for the City of London, where academics, with policy-makers and business leaders – from around the world – have the opportunity to discuss and debate issues which contribute to the dynamic development of the City of London markets and their effect worldwide.”

Late Lord George, Governor of Bank of England

The Biennial Meeting, which provides a platform for dialogue between leading figures from the City of London and other capital cities, has become the major event of its kind in the calendar of the City of London.

The event is sponsored by the Maria Tsakos Public Benefit Foundation and as it is non-commercial, no fee is charged for attendance which is by invitation only. The delegates (numbering around 800 over the duration of the event) from the UK and overseas include policy makers, leading businessmen, senior academics, with a number of our graduates and current postgraduate students.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Professor Costas Th. Grammenos, CBE, DSc
LRF Chair in Shipping, Trade and Finance
