Dr Orestis Soldatos, Lead Structurer, BP Trading & Shipping

Dr. Orestes Soldatos has extensive experience of working in Financial & Commodity markets both in banking and industry. He joined BP Trading & Shipping as Lead Structurer for Gas & Power, from EDF Trading where he was one of the senior Structurers. Dr. Soldatos previously worked for 9 years as a Director at Credit Suisse where he was responsible for pricing & hedging structured products in Rates, FX, Commodities and XVA.

He has also held positions at Nomura as a Risk Manager, Total Gas & Power Trading at the research team, as well as for Shell where he did his internship for the Global Scenarios Team. He holds an MSc in Shipping Trade and Finance form Bayes Business School and a PhD in Energy Derivatives Pricing. Orestes Soldatos, has published at international journals, and has presented at international conferences. In 2006 he was awarded the Chorafas foundation prize for his academic paper is the in the field of Derivatives Pricing and Risk Management.
