Mr George Karageorgiou, President & CEO, Olympic Shipping & Management SA
Georgios (“George”) Karageorgiou, is the President and CEO of Olympic Shipping and Management S.A., the shipping arm of the Onassis Group. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the UGS, GARD and the Hellenic Mutual War Risks Association, Vice Chairman in INTERTANKO and HELMEPA and participates in the ABS Hellenic National Committee, DNV GL Greek National Committee and RINA Hellenic Advisory Committee.
He started his career as a project engineer for Kassos Maritime Enterprises from 1990 to 1992. From 1992 to March 2004, he worked in various executive positions as well as a director for Stelmar Shipping Limited, a shipping company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Between 1995 and 2005 Mr. Karageorgiou was also a director of easyGroup Ltd, easyJet Holdings Ltd, easyInternetCafe Ltd, easyCruise Ltd, Stelinvest Corp. and a number of other easyGroup companies.
From 2006 to 2016 he was a co-founder, and CEO of Globus Maritime Limited and from 2011 its President as well. Mr. Karageorgiou holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.E. in Ocean Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance from City University Business School.
