Mr Michael Gialouris, President, ASOFIN Management SA
Mr. Michael Gialouris is President of ASOFIN Management SA, the investment management arm of the Onassis Foundation, with presence in Athens and Vaduz. Mr. Gialouris studied mechanical engineering in Greece and read for the M.Sc. in Shipping, Trade & Finance in London. He started his career in the shipping industry in 1987, working for a Greek shipping company in London, before joining Citibank Shipping Bank SA in Piraeus in 1991.
In Citibank he was responsible for the management of a substantial shipping portfolio while developing the syndicated international shipping loan market. In 1998 he joined Attica Holdings SA, as CFO for all private and public Group companies, which included Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries and a number of holdings in dry bulk shipping, real estate, healthcare services and other private equity investments.
Since 2009 Mr. Gialouris is the President of ASOFIN Management SA, overseeing the financial interests of the Onassis Foundation, including shipping, real estate and private equity investments. He is member of the Board of the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, member of the Board of a number of Onassis Foundation companies and participates in the Investment and Advisory Committees of private equity funds.
