Professor Michael Tamvakis, Professor of Commodity Economics and Finance, Bayes Business School

M. TamvakisProfessor of Commodity Economics and Finance at Bayes. He lectures in energy economics, international commodity trade, power and renewable markets, commodity derivatives and shipping economics. He has served as Associate Dean for Undergraduate programmes and as Director of both the MSc courses in Shipping and Energy, Trade & Finance. His research interests are in the areas of energy and commodity economics, energy derivatives and shipping economics.

He has published in academic journals such as Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Journal of Alternative Investments, Journal of Derivatives, Transportation Review Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review and Maritime Policy and Management. He has contributed to several edited books and is the author of Commodity Trade & Finance, whose second edition was published in March 2015. He is also a contributor and commentator on commodity and energy issues to the press, including BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World Service.
