Professor Theodoros Syriopoulos
Professor Theodoros Syriopoulos, Professor of Shipping Finance; Chair, Port Management and Shipping Department, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
Dr Theodoros Syriopoulos is a Professor of Shipping Finance and Chairman of the Ports Management and Shipping Dpt., School of Economics and Political Sciences, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.
He also holds adjunct visiting posts in international and domestic Schools, including, Audencia Business School, France; Newcastle University, UK; Shanghai Maritime University, China; Law School of Athens; and Athens University of Economics and Business. He has also served as a Professor of Finance, in the Shipping, Trade and Transport Dpt., School of Business Studies, University of the Aegean.
Before joining the academia, Prof. Syriopoulos served in top executive management posts in banking, investment, asset management, corporate finance, and consulting business. He publishes regularly in accredited international financial and maritime journals, edited volumes and books in topics of financial management, capital markets and shipping.
A part of his applied research has gained international prizes and distinctions. Prof. Syriopoulos holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Applied Economics from Kent University at Canterbury, UK, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Piraeus, Greece.
