Overview
Dr. Miranda Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, specialising in entrepreneurship education. She joined in 2022 as Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, taking on the Module leader role of the core modules in Introduction to entrepreneurship and Critical analysis for business. She was then promoted to Senior lecturer in 2024. Miranda is currently Course Director for the undergraduate Business Management cluster since 2024, combining academic leadership with a particular interest in developing engaging and innovative approaches to management education on large scale teaching.
Prior to her current role, Miranda held teaching positions at Coventry University London, University College London (UCL) and the University of Warwick, gaining experience of teaching students across a range of programmes and educational settings.
Miranda holds a PhD from Warwick Business School, where their doctoral research explored family business growth and the role of emotions within the growth decision-making process. Her wider academic interests span entrepreneurship, family business and entrepreneurship education, with a particular interest in how entrepreneurship can be taught in ways that connect academic knowledge with entrepreneurial practice.
Miranda is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and an experienced educator known for innovation in teaching. A particular focus of their educational practice is the design and delivery of practice-oriented entrepreneurship education that remains engaging and experiential at scale. Her approach seeks to create opportunities for students to actively engage with entrepreneurship and apply their learning, including within large-cohort teaching environments.
Her commitment to teaching and student experience has received recognition through teaching awards and nominations. This includes an “I Love My Staff” award at Coventry University in 2022 and finalist for the Staff Excellence Teaching and Learning Award in 2024.
Across her teaching, research and academic leadership, Miranda is particularly interested in developing entrepreneurship education that is rigorous, practically relevant and capable of creating meaningful learning experiences for diverse groups of students.
