Overview
Dr Oben Ceryan is a Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Bayes Business School, City St. George's, University of London.
His research primarily focuses on dynamic pricing and revenue management, studying optimal replenishment, allocation, pricing, and/or assortment decisions in supply chains. A key stream of his work investigates operational and marketing strategies to mitigate price fluctuations across multiple products due to supply constraints.
His research has been published in elite journals Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and Production & Operations Management, as well as other top journals including IISE Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, and Decision Sciences.
His work has received the 2023 IISE Transactions Best Paper Award in Supply Chain and Logistics, and a Ford Motor Company Best Paper Award. His pricing research is cited in influential texts The Oxford Handbook of Pricing Management and Revenue Management and Pricing Analytics. Two papers were selected as Featured Articles and publicised in practitioner outlets for their practical impact. He was invited to speak at The Centre for Management Consulting Excellence and contributed to policy reports for the UN Economic Comission for Europe.
His work has raised more than £120,000 in research grants as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator.
Dr Ceryan teaches modules on pricing and revenue management, quantitative methods and analytics, strategic business analytics, and supply chain analytics across undergraduate, MSc, MBA, and PhD programmes. He was shortlisted for the 2020 Student Union Awards for Academic Impact.
He is the founding Course Director for Bayes' MSc in Digital Supply Chain Management programme, ranked 6th in the UK and 34th globally (QS World University Rankings).
He received his Ph.D degree from the University of Michigan.
