About
Overview
Ece Baskol is a Ph.D. student in Management (Marketing) at Bayes Business School, City, University of London. Her research is grounded in consumer culture theory, with a focus on refugees’ lived experiences of loss, detachment, and the role of markets and organizations in shaping these processes.
Prior to joining Bayes, Ece worked for three years as a Product Manager in AI-driven companies across fashion technology and education technology, where she led the development of consumer-facing digital products. She previously served as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Boğaziçi University, contributing to research and teaching in marketing and management.
Ece holds BA and MA degrees in Management from Boğaziçi University. Her Master’s thesis, “The Utilization of Capital Forms in Communicating Identity Projects and Managing Community Conflicts: A Study of a Modest Fashion Online Consumption Community,” examined how consumers mobilize cultural, social, and symbolic forms of capitals in identity communication and community management within a digital space.
Ece also submitted a paper with her co-authors to International Journal of Research in Marketing called "Investigating Managerial Perceptions of Obesity Policies and Firms' Marketing Outcomes".
