About

Overview

Maggie is a PhD student at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass). Her focus is on entrepreneurial identity and the influence of role models. She is interested in entrepreneurial consideration and how to encourage more diversity in entrepreneurship. Through her research, she hopes to be able to inform current policy and create change. Maggie has experience in policy through her role as the Deputy Chair of the Engagement Board at Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, and actively engages in the start-up community through her non-profit organisation, Girls in Charge Initiative, and through her own businesses.

Maggie took a non-traditional route into the field of Management, completing an undergraduate degree in Modern Languages at the University of Manchester (First Class) and a master’s degree at the University of Oxford in French Literature (Distinction).

Prior to starting her PhD, she was Tutor at Stanford University for their Oxford Exchange Programme and Visiting Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at the University of Chester. She has taught on business and entrepreneurship programmes at the University of Oxford and Manchester, and taught and gave keynote speeches at Chinese universities including Beijing University and Tsinghua University.
