Overview
Yuri Lee is a Ph.D. student in Management (Marketing) at Bayes Business School, City, University of London, where she is affiliated with the Marketing group. Her research interests lie in consumer perception, judgment and decision making, and prosocial consumption. Yuri’s research examines topics such as the influence of consumer perceptions in quality–quantity trade-offs, the impact of price framing (e.g., unit pricing) on decision making, and the psychological mechanisms underlying prosocial behavior and consumer persuasion.
Prior to joining Bayes, Yuri completed her studies and academic work in South Korea. She holds an MS in Marketing from Seoul National University and a BA in English and Japanese Education from Konkuk University. Her Master’s thesis, titled “Yuri Lee & Youjae Yi (2024), Warm Heart or Sincere Mind? The Effect of Salespeople’s Communication Styles and Customers’ Self-concept Clarity on Persuasiveness,” explored how salespeople’s communication styles and consumers’ self-concept clarity jointly influence persuasion effectiveness. Her work has been accepted for presentation at the European Marketing Academy (EMAC) and has been presented at conferences including the Asia-Pacific Association for Consumer Research (Asia-Pacific ACR) and Korean Society of Consumer Studies. She has received multiple competitive, merit-based fellowships and scholarships, including the Fellowship for Fundamental Academic Fields from Seoul National University (2023) and the Hakhyunsa Scholarship (2022).
During her Master’s program, Yuri worked as a full-time research assistant at Seoul National University. She has contributed to teaching across multiple levels, including executive, graduate, and undergraduate programs.
