Action Learning
Come together with a small group of peers to solve real workplace challenges through Action Learning.
CCE’s bespoke Action Learning service brings together employees to work collaboratively on live challenges and opportunities from within their own organisation. The focus on real and current issues, and on practical solutions and action, ensures results can be applied and actions implemented straight away.
We will work with you to build a programme that suits you and your organisation. However, to get the most out of your Action Learning, we would recommend a series of six three-hour sessions spread out over six months, with a maximum of 10 participants in a group.
Our consultants have extensive experience in delivering people and organisational development workshops and facilitating Action Learning sessions. They will ensure each session is well structured and effectively facilitated, maximising value for all participants.
[CCE’s Action Learning support] at Foundations was invaluable for me as the newest member of the team at the time. The structure allowed for me to engage immediately with my colleagues and with the content of the sessions in a contained and productive way.
What is Action Learning?
Action Learning is a method of peer learning which uses enquiry and problem solving to enable participants to find practical ways for dealing with real work challenges and dilemmas. It emphasises learning through action and applying learning and experience in practical ways.
Action Learning is about an inquiring approach to problems, issues and dilemmas. It encourages questioning and understanding, rather than advice giving and instant solutions. It also takes account of the fact that we often learn best in the company of others and that by doing so we are able to share in their knowledge, insights and perspectives.
Our Action Learning facilitators Lisa Barry and Dr. Helen Timbrell did an online webinar on Action Learning Sets, exploring what they are and the value they can bring to organisations and individuals. Watch a recording of the event here.
