Cross-sector Leadership Flagship Event - 1 October 2025

Creating sustainable social change – in today’s new world, what will it take from leaders across the private, public and civil society sectors?

The Cross-sector Leadership Flagship Event held at Bayes brought together leaders from the private, public, and civil society sectors to explore how collaborative leadership can drive sustainable social change.

This discussion aimed to stimulate curiosity and active learning about how civil society, the public sector and business can work together on the biggest cross sectoral challenges that we face as a nation.

Keynote speaker Lord Victor Adebowale CBECity St George’s, University of London Honorary Doctorate, emphasized the need to move beyond competition and embrace collaborative leadership that understands complex systems.
Following a keynote, a panel discussion was hosted by Mike Adamson CBE, Bayes Honorary Visiting Professor, featuring:

Panellists shared their insights on the importance of trust, long-term thinking, and systemic reform, stressing the emotional investment required in leadership. The event underscored the urgency of shifting leadership practices to be more inclusive, adaptive, and human-cantered in an increasingly interconnected world.

Beyond Awareness: Using Coaching to Support Women Through Menopause

In this free webinar Catherine Wilton shared her award-winning research demonstrating the positive impact coaching can have for women at work during menopause.

Catherine explored how HR leaders and CEOs in the voluntary sector can take practical, strategic action. She shared how coaching can be used as part of a holistic approach to workforce support, improving retention, fulfilling legal obligations, and ensuring your organisation leads with purpose and care.

Catherine is an independent Leadership Development Specialist, Facilitator and Coach with a particular focus on the public and voluntary sectors. She held a number of senior roles in the NHS including as Director of the Coalition for Collaborative Care and ran several nationally recognised leadership programmes.  She is accredited as a Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and holds an MSc (with distinction) in Coaching and Behavioural Change from Henley Business School, where she specialised in menopause coaching. Catherine is currently undertaking a PhD in coaching, also at Henley.

In this free webinar Katrina Darcy-Smith reflected on her experiences of building a coaching culture in a large, complex charity.

In this practice-based session, Katrina Darcy-Smith presented on behalf of Jane Bellinger sharing her presentation on coaching culture within the National Trust. Katrina shared experiences from across the National Trust, where a coaching approach is now at the heart of learning, development and performance processes.
