World Creativity and Innovation Day
Each year, the Centre marks World Creativity and Innovation Day with an event that brings together our community to celebrate the power of creative thinking. Drawing on the Centre’s research and network, these events use hands-on creative processes and interdisciplinary collaboration to explore some of the most pressing challenges we face, inspiring fresh ideas and new approaches to making a positive impact in the world.

Creativity in Education: A Perfect Storm or Time for Change
The Centre hosted a public lecture 'Creativity in Education: A Perfect Storm or Time for Change' by Dr Gerard Puccio, State University of New York Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Centre for Applied Imagination at Buffalo State University, exploring the critical role of creativity in shaping the future of education. He made the case for moving beyond conventional rote learning towards more dynamic, creativity-focused teaching, sharing evidence-based strategies that educators at all levels can use to cultivate creative thinking and problem-solving in the classroom.
Bayes Innovate 2024: Entrepreneurship in the Era of AI
Bayes Innovate is a premier interdisciplinary conference exploring entrepreneurship, innovation, and creative leadership. The 2024 edition focused on the applications of AI across the entrepreneurship space, bringing together more than 175 delegates, entrepreneurs, investors, academics, and decision-makers, for a programme of talks, workshops, and panel discussions on best innovation practice.
The Global WIIN Conference 2022
Global Women Inventors & Innovators Network (GlobalWIIN) Conference, Showcase & Awards Ceremony introduced speakers from around the world to discuss subjects including the pursuit of protection and ownership of intellectual property, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the rise of digital assets, the food industry, the growth of women inventors in the Middle East, investing in the next generation of female leadership, and the value and impact of protection in a competitive world.

Now in its fifth year, the Centre’s flagship Innovating for Impact symposium brought together students, academics, entrepreneurs and practitioners to explore how AI is shaping productivity, inclusion, and the future of work.

The Centre and CityVentures convened entrepreneurs, investors and academics to examine how socioeconomic, global and financial divides in startup funding can be bridged, and what universities can do to widen participation and opportunity.

The Centre hosted a public lecture by Dr Gerard Puccio of Buffalo State University on the critical role of creativity in shaping the future of education, and how educators can move beyond rote learning to cultivate creative thinking in the classroom.
January 2025 - Innovating for Impact: How to build thriving startup ecosystems at home and abroad
Hosted by the Centre and CityVentures, this year’s Innovating for Impact event brought together more than 100 investors, entrepreneurs and students to explore how socioeconomic and global divides in startup funding can be overcome, and launched a new book based on the Innovation for African Universities programme.

October 2024 - Centre for Doctoral Training in Diversity in Data Visualisation awarded over £9m funding from the EPSRC
First of its kind CDT will offer research career paths to currently under-represented groups in the data visualization sector, with the goal of upskilling the wider workforce to harness the benefits of data visualization.
March 2024 - More Human. More Social. How companies can implement effective ESG strategies to drive change
At Bayes Innovate 2023, the Centre led creative workshops helping delegates use creative processes to examine the potential impacts and implications of emerging trends as part of a wider conversation on effective ESG strategy.
March 2023 - Team up: collaborating with drones in higher education
This interdisciplinary teaching collaboration led by Dr Sara used a structured ideation framework, framed around the UN Sustainable Development Goals, to generate creative business and social uses for drones from medical deliveries and marine conservation to beaming holographic lessons into disaster zones.

The Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice (C2P2) and The National Centre for Creativity enabled by AI (CebAI), research centres within Bayes Business School celebrated collaborative innovations for the United Nations' World Creativity and Innovation Day. In 2021, the special focus on Goal 16, the sustainable development of peace, justice & strong institutions.
