Association for Consumer Conference

26-29 September 2025

The Bayes marketing group, including both faculty and PhD students, had a very strong presence at 2024's Association for Consumer Conference, held in Paris.

Collectively, group members (Sabrina Gottschalk, Fleura Bardhi, Janina Steinmetz, Zachary Estes, Thomas Robinson, Caroline Wiertz, Joyce Liu, Irene Scopelliti, Daniela Cristian, Elena Bocchi, Roma Cusumano, Greta Vignali, and Kees Smeets) presented seven working papers, three competitive papers, seven special sessions, and had additional involvements in roundtables, panels, and chairing sessions.

The group also had significant involvement in nurturing the next generation of consumer researchers, with five faculty members (Fleura Bardhi, Zachary Estes, Irene Scopelliti, Anirban Mukhopadhyay, and Caroline Wiertz) invited to the doctoral symposium and the early career workshop as speakers and mentors.

Finally, two alumni of our PhD program (Mario Campana and Varala Maraj) won the conference best working paper award for a joint project.

This strong presence highlights not only our group's commitment to advancing consumer research but also its growing influence and leadership within the broader consumer research community.

Emergent Priorities in Consumption (#EPIC) Research Symposium

Bayes Business School

This one-day research symposium delved into three of the most important themes requiring society’s - and our - attention:

  1. Sustainability
  2. Precarity
  3. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The aim of #EPIC is to facilitate in-depth explorations of each theme from various perspectives, hopefully leading to the cross-fertilisation of ideas across methodological boundaries and between academia and practice.
