Dean lauds Bayes colleagues in annual awards
The Dean kicked off the festive season by recognising colleagues who have gone 'above and beyond' to support Bayes Business School and its students this year.
Bayes Dean Professor Andre Spicer recognised ten colleagues or teams who have gone the extra mile in supporting students or strengthening academic courses at his annual awards this month.
Professor Spicer said they had shown commitment and creative thinking to ensure the School continues to navigate successfully the challenges facing the higher education sector.
The winners were:
- Michael Davies for his outstanding leadership and for strengthening the quality, consistency and academic integrity of assessment across Bayes’ Undergraduate programmes.
- Dr Natasa Todorovic for her exceptional leadership in transforming and strengthening the flagship MSc Finance - revitalising its structure, reinforcing its top-tier standing and ensuring its continued excellence and competitiveness.
- Stefan Prosenica, examinations officer, for his extraordinary dedication, innovation and compassion in addressing issues – while providing exceptional support to staff and students far beyond the expectations of his role.
- The Bayes Clubs Team, Erica Ramos and Lysandra Halmshaw, for transforming the Bayes Business Clubs service into a professional, inclusive and career-enhancing network that elevates student leadership, strengthens Bayes’ reputation and demonstrates exceptional care, creativity and impact.
- Dr Li Cunnigham for exceptional leadership of the Business Management Cluster – including curriculum innovation, industry partnerships, staff development, and student-focused initiatives that boosted programme quality, student satisfaction and national rankings.
- The web development, recruitment and marketing teams for their outstanding collaborative excellence in delivering a complete transformation of all MSc programme websites - creating a unified, strategic, and high-impact digital presence that powerfully strengthens Bayes’ global recruitment and reputation.

The Dean also praised the valuable contribution and expertise of four other or individuals who were ‘highly commended’.
They were:
- Dr Haseeb Shabbir for his outstanding work in the field of philanthropy.
- Dr Wanqing Zhang for her exceptional leadership in strengthening the School’s visibility and partnerships in China, creating the first joint Executive Education programme with Tsinghua University, and advancing Bayes’ global engagement and reputation.
- The Business Education in the Community project team (Lilian De Menezes, Simon Parker, Claire Molloy, Segen Tesfagiorgis, Sabrina Gottschalk, James Martin and Oben Ceryan) for creating an inspiring programme to widen participation that broadened aspirations, strengthened confidence and opened university pathways for local students through an exceptional partnership with Sage.
- The Executive Education team (Mark Carberry, Joanne Paktsun, Victoria Oriade and Thomas Westerman) for driving a transformational renewal of Bayes Executive Education - expanding global reach, deepening industry partnerships and delivering exceptional growth through innovative, high-impact programmes.
