About our leadership

Barbara Casu is Professor of Finance with research focussing on empirical banking, financial regulation, structured finance, and corporate governance.

Barbara joined Bayes 14 years ago and has held a number of important leadership positions across the School. She has served as the Director of the Centre for Banking Research since 2011, has led the Executive PhD Programme since 2019 and led the Faculty of Finance until 2024.

Richard Payne is Professor of Finance with research and teaching interests in asset pricing, market structure and quantitative trading. He is the Deputy Dean at Bayes with responsibility for academic programmes. He previously served as Associate Dean for UG Programmes, having designed and led UG and MSc programmes at Bayes, Warwick, and Bristol. Rich joined Bayes in 2010.

Dr Andreia Carvalho N’Djai is the Senior Director of Operations at Bayes Business School. She leads all Professional Services across the School, holding executive responsibility for strategic planning, financial stewardship, student administration, and operational delivery across its three London sites. Andreia joined Bayes in 2026 following senior leadership roles at King’s College London, where she served as Director of Operations for the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care. Her previous experience includes co-leading the operational merger that established the School of Life Course and Population Sciences, and serving as Head of Scientific Affairs at the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology at King's. She holds a PhD in Biomedicine and an MSc in Management and Leadership in Science and Innovation.

Simone Krummaker is the Associate Dean for the MSc Programmes and an Associate Professor of Insurance at Bayes Business School. She holds a doctoral degree (Dr. rer. pol.) and a German University degree (Diplom Ökonom) in Business and Economics from the Leibniz University of Hannover and is a Fellow and the Institute for Trade and Innovation at Offenburg University.

Sonia Falconieri joined Bayes in 2009, previously holding academic positions at institutions in Rome and London. Her research interests are in Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance. Specifically, she has been working on the optimal design of Initial Public Offerings and, more recently, on gender diversity in Corporate Finance.

Alessandro Giudici is a Professor of Strategy, Head of the Strategy Group, and former Director of the Modular Executive MBA (2018-2024) at Bayes Business School. He serves as elected senator on the Senate of City St George's, University of London, and its Academic Governance and Nomination Committee, and he is a member of Bayes' Board of Studies.

Malvina Marchese is Associate Professor of Data Science for Finance at Bayes (formerly Cass) Business School, Director of the International Institute of Forecasters, Head of Modelling of Delphi Vision SPI Marine. She is Invited Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU-Doha) where she lectures on financial forecasting and empirical finance. She is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.

Malvina has significant experience in forecasting practices having held the positions of Head of Risk Management at Shell Oil, in charge of the forecasting outlook and V@R models, and the position of financial forecasting consultant with Maersk Brokers Advisory, CBRE Investment Management and the Altus Lab.

She is an associate editor of the International Journal of Finance and Economics (ABS 4*) and of Foresight: The International Journal of Applied Forecasting. Malvina holds a PhD in Data Science (Statistics) from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Her research focuses on high dimensional models for volatility and correlations forecasting with applications to commodities and sustainability. Her research has been published on top ranked journals including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Energy Economics, the Journal of Commodity Markets and Transportation Research ( Part B).

Sam Kamuriwo is Professor of Strategy and Innovation at Bayes Business School and before joining Bayes (formerly Cass) in 2007, had extensive executive-level industry experience in Africa.
Professor Kamuriwo's research advances understanding in:
1. non-organic innovation strategies employed by firms in knowledge-intensive contexts
2. board-level strategies by firms and how they relate to issues such as non-organic innovation strategies, diversity, ESG, to support firm performance
3. entrepreneurial strategy, and its intersection with ecosystems development and institutional context

Professor Feng Li is Chair of Information Management. His research investigates how digital technologies can be used to facilitate strategic innovation and organisational transformation across different sectors and domains. He advises senior business leaders and policy makers on how to manage the transition to new technologies, new business models, and new organisational designs in the digital economy.

Professor Nick Motson holds a BSc from Bayes Business School, an MSc from London Business School and a PhD from Bayes Business School. Following a 13 year career as a proprietary trader of interest rate derivatives in the City of London for various banks including First National Bank of Chicago, Industrial Bank of Japan and Wachovia Bank. Nick returned to Bayes in 2005 to pursue his doctoral studies. Upon completion of his PhD he joined the faculty of finance full-time in 2008. Nick's research interests include asset management, portfolio construction, hedge funds, alternative assets and structured products.

Dr Cormac Bryce is currently the Lord Mayor City of London's Research Fellow working on research, dissemination and engagement activities related to regulating and managing risk in the UK financial services industry for growth, a key priority of the current Lord Mayor of City of London. His multi-method research spans from human behaviour in financial organisations to the effect of regulation, incentive structures and employee bench-marking on organisational behaviour within the aviation and financial services industry.

Dr Dimitris Paraskevopoulos is a Reader in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Dimitris’ research is on the design, development and application of operations research methods for solving complex combinatorial optimisation problems that arise in the fields of Manufacturing and Service Operations Management and Transportation and Distribution Logistics.

Dr Aneesh Banerjee is a Reader (Associate Professor) in Management and presently the Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching at Bayes Business School. His award-winning research focuses on various types of technology adoption – from ERP to Automation and AI – in several industries such as high-tech, software, healthcare, fintech, cultural & creative industries. His most recent research focuses on the perceptions and values associated with AI tools among different stakeholders within complex systems.

Mark Carberry is the Director of Executive Education having joined Bayes Business School in 2023. Previously, Mark spent 20 years leading the creation, strategy and international growth of executive education at the Møller Institute, Churchill College, University of Cambridge. Mark leads the Executive Education Team to create unique executive and professional development programmes that are tailored, innovative and experiential to meet the changing global context and needs of each client and their respective organisation.

Mark has been recognised for his work in international development, personally receiving The Queen’s Award for Enterprise from Her Majesty the Queen for his contribution to international trade.
