Getting governance right
CCE’s governance services help organisations understand board dynamics, strengthen structures, and review governance processes, which are fundamental to the success of your nonprofit organisation. We have worked with many boards from different sub-sectors at different stages of development, so we understand how different approaches work in different contexts and we tailor our approach for each client’s unique circumstances and resources. We don’t just talk about boards - we serve on them and understand the reality.
What we offer
We bring a range of expertise and experience offering:
- Governance and board‑effectiveness reviews using a tried and tested assessment and evaluation framework tailored to each organisation
- Board development workshops covering key governance topics, which would particularly benefit chairs, trustees, chief executives and those who fulfil a governance function in their organisation
- Bespoke, targeted interventions and support, including help with an away-day, a board training or information session, exploring a board’s approach to risk and finance, support at major change or other key organisational transition points, or specialist support for the key partnership between Chair and Chief Executive

About the governance team
Our governance consultants bring a deep and wide-ranging expertise drawn from decades of leadership across the voluntary, community, public and health sectors. Their experience includes former roles as chief executives, directors, trustees and chairs within organisations ranging from grassroots charities to large, complex institutions.
Their diverse professional backgrounds provide a strong understanding of the charity sector and the unique challenges and contexts of its different sub‑sectors.
